Membership

Any sociologists, but also other social scientists who work in the areas of ageing and old age and share our interests and concerns can become members of the Ageing and Society section. It is not necessary to be a member of the German Society for Sociology, but DGS members are very welcome.

The section is a forum for lively and productive exchanges. It thrives on the participation and initiatives of its members. Active participation is therefore not only possible, but also explicitly requested.
You can apply for membership by >> E-Mail. Please tell us something about yourself, your training and your professional activity. The board of the section will then decide on your membership at its next meeting.
Our statistics: We currently have 249 members, 104 female and 145 male. (10/2009)
Our section receives minimal funding from the DGS. We therefore ask all members for a small contribution.
The membership fee is only € 10.00 per year (for students and those unemployed € 5.00). Please transfer the annual fee to the following account:
